Picasso Museum in Antibes,

Picasso and Antibes, it’s a true love story. The museum is located in the Grimaldi Castle, a famous residence which was built on the ruins of Antipolis. Originally, it was a bishop’s residence and then a barracks. But it was inhabited by the famous Monaco princely family which gave it its name.
Picasso lived there in the 1940s to establish an artist’s studio. After his stay, he left 67 unique works in storage. This is how the Picasso museum was born a few years later. Among the most famous paintings, you can admire: The Joy of Living, Satyr, fauna and centaur with a trident, The Gobeur d’oursins, The Woman with sea urchins, Still life with owl and three sea urchins, The Goat, etc. Discovering such works in a regional museum is an unexpected chance. This is why we advise you to go and spend a moment there.
